Modelling and Tooling Boards from ebalta – variety from master models to high abrasion resistant tools.
ebalta modelling and tooling boards and blocks made of polyurethane, epoxy or foam for milling are used in all major industrial sectors: For example, in the automotive industry, in mechanical engineering, in aircraft construction or in architectural model making.
With a variety of plastic modelling and tooling boards in densities from 0.08 to 1.86 g/cm³, ebalta can cover a wide range of requirements from different applications: Whether as an inspection model for design studies, as a master model, as a high abrasion resistant tool or in mould making.
The range includes polyurethane boards and blocks and epoxy boards of the ebaboard product line and foam boards of the ebazell brand both in standard dimensions or in special dimensions available on request.
MODELING BOARDSPolyurethane Modelling Boards
Polyurethane boards are not only used in production, but also in direct processing as inspection models, data control or master models for design applications, among other things.
Due to their dense surface and very fine structure, ebaoard PU boards for design can be processed very well and subsequently finished very well. The result is high-quality design models, master models or foundry patterns, especially from the high-quality established polyurethane board ebaboard 0700.
The ebaboard polyurethane boards for design with matching adhesives and repair putties are available in the standard dimensions 1500 x 500 x 30/50/75/100/150/200 mm and on request as customised models.
TOOLING BOARDSPolyurethane Tooling Boards
The high abrasion resistant ebaboard polyurethane boards from ebalta are the ideal choice when manufacturing technically demanding foundry patterns and fixtures such as core boxes, forming tools or bath models for galvanic tools made of Ureol plastic.
The PU boards are therefore preferably used where a high-quality, dense and homogeneous surface coupled with good edge stability and high abrasion resistance are required.
ebaboard hard plastic boards from ebalta are characterised above all by their excellent processing qualities. These include very low generation of dust during milling, a low coefficient of linear expansion and high strength values.
The different delivery dimensions, with a stand width of 500 mm, range from 1000 to 1500 mm in length and thicknesses from 30 to 100 mm. Specific customer requirements that go beyond this are available on request as customised products.
EPOXY TOOLING BOARDSEpoxy Tooling Boards
The epoxy boards from ebalta offer mechanically constant properties. They are very heat resistant and have a very fine surface structure for prepreg applications
This makes them ideal as moulds and tools for composites. These properties are important both as prepreg master pattern and for direct tooling or high-frequency welding. As dimensionally stable hard plastic boards, epoxy tooling boards can be precisely tailored to the requirements of the respective applications.
Epoxy boards are often used in racing and vehicle construction because of their fine surface structure and good dimensional stability. The models created from ebaboard EP boards can be used for laminating or prepreg applications.
During processing and application, ebalta’s epoxy resin boards impress with their high heat resistance, low coefficient of expansion and low dust generation. The epoxy boards are suitable for application temperatures up to 140 °C.
FOAM BOARDSPolyurethane Foam Boards
The advantages of ebalta PU foam boards are primarily their very fine surface structure. As they do not contain any abrasive fillers, they have a very fine structure that is particularly easy to machine.
This means that ebazell boards from ebalta can be milled with all standard tools without any problems.
As with all modeling and tooling boards and blocks from ebalta, the ebazell PU boards are offered with the suitable adhesive and with the ebalta pore sealer for optimal surface finishing.
ebalta offers ebazell boards in the colours light green, light beige and light grey in a density of 0.08 to 0.25 g/cm³: ebazell 80, ebazell 160 and ebazell 260. The foam boards are available in standard sizes with a length of up to 2,000 mm and widths of 1250 and 1000 mm. Other sizes are supplied on request. The boards can be stored in closed, preferably dry rooms for an unlimited period of time.
